How I Work

The rarest thing in a boardroom

The rarest thing in a boardroom is someone who can read the whole commercial system at once.

Most businesses at an inflection point face one of two problems. Either growth is fragmented across siloed teams with no single executive owning the full engine, or they have capital and ambition but the go-to-market strategy has not kept pace. In both cases the answer is the same: one senior mind who can diagnose the whole system, identify exactly where value is being left on the table, and build the strategy to capture it.

That is what I do. At board level, in the operating chair, and everywhere in between. I work across four modes, depending on what the business needs. Each one is different in structure. All of them are the same in standard.

My background spans twelve years at the leading edge of digital and integrated advertising — Turner Broadcasting, McCann, AKQA, Razorfish and ASOS — followed by a decade building growth engines, securing capital and leading transformation at C-suite level across consumer, health, fintech and professional services.

What makes the combination rare is not any single thing on that list. It is all of them together: the creative authority of a Cannes Lion winner, the commercial rigour of a FTSE 100 partner, and the founder instinct of someone who has built from nothing and knows what it costs.

I do not take on clients. I take on partnerships.

I work with a small number of businesses at any one time. Every engagement is selective, entered into only where I can see a genuine commercial opportunity to move the needle.

Non-Executive Director

Independent board-level oversight for growth-stage and PE-backed businesses, and the right pre-seed businesses with genuine ambition. I bring commercial challenge, growth strategy and investor relations capability to boards navigating scale, transformation or capital events. Suited to founders with skin in the game, Series B and beyond, PE-backed portfolios and businesses preparing for exit or significant capital raise.

Strategic Advisor

A standing advisory relationship for founders and leadership teams who need a senior thinking partner with genuine commercial and capital experience. I bring pattern recognition across sectors, commercial opportunity identification and execution, introductions into investor and partner networks, and a direct line to someone who has been in the room when the decisions that matter are made.

Fractional Chief Growth or Marketing Officer

Embedded, senior-level commercial leadership for businesses that need a CGO or CMO but are not yet at the stage to hire one full time. I own the growth strategy, the go-to-market architecture and the execution, with board-level accountability and the depth of a full-time appointment, without the full-time overhead.

Transformation and Capital Projects

Intensive, time-bound engagements for specific commercial inflection points: fundraising preparation, investor narrative and data room architecture, go-to-market design, brand transformation, and digital or AI strategy. These are the engagements where the stakes are highest and the timeline is not forgiving. I have delivered at this level from seed stage to FTSE 100.
